As a makeup artist a setting spray is usually just water in a spray bottle. However when I used this setting spray I would spray in between stages of me doing my makeup for a night out or when I wanted my makeup to last a long time. I do think it helped to set in my makeup a little and last slightly longer maybe just by adding a layer over the makeup. It also helps to refresh the face and to not make makeup look too cakey or dry Show less
