The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Clay Wash

I got this product in a set with the Himalayan charcoal face mask but knew nothing about this before trying, I’d never really been impressed with charcoal products I’d tried previously so didn’t expect too much from the claims this one made, I’ve been suffering badly with hormonal breakouts and my pores which aren’t enlarged but just felt really congested and desperate for something that would provide deep cleansing. My first thoughts on application were how refreshing the scent is, it has a subtle charcoal scent mixed with tea tree which is a main ingredient in the product, it’s not overly feminine so would be more than suitable as a unisex product, my partner actually enjoys using this also! It’s really creamy and lathers up well, I like to really work it into my face for around a minute before rinsing. After drying my face I looked in the mirror and was really surprised how amazing and clear my pores were looking! My moisturiser also seemed to sink in a little easier after use too. The next day I noticed the angry painful blemishes on my chin seemed to have shrunk considerably I used this wash for the first time on a Tuesday afternoon and had around 7 large blemishes, by Saturday morning all the blemishes had disappeared! I had only used the wash once each day as I was concerned it could be drying to use more often. Not convinced this wasn’t a coincidence I have kept using consistently over several weeks and found while it can’t prevent my hormonal outbreaks it does make them so much more bearable and clears them up in no time. Think this is so worth trying for anyone with combination or oily skin who are struggling with pores/blemishes, it maybe be a little too drying if you have dry skin. I have even used this product as a mask by applying to dry skin and leaving on for a few minutes for those really bad breakout! Have already gone out and purchased two more tubes of this as I really don’t want to find myself without it any time soon. Can’t rate highly enough!!

I’m obsessed with the charcoal mask like so many others so when this wash came out it was a must have! I love this product, it smells amazing, has a texture somewhere between a gel and a cream. It lathers well, has a nice tingly feeling when applied, and deeply cleanses the skin. The result for me was that my pores were minimised, my skin looks clearer and fresher and really soft to touch. A must buy for lovers of the Himalayan Charcoal range!
