e.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer

This primer works really well and hydrates the face while still leaving a good base for the foundation to sit on top of. It has a silicone texture but is so hydrating. It blurs the pores as well as hydrating. The only reason this is 4 stars is because I personally don’t like the silicone texture, but this product works really well and I would recommend it.

It left my foundation flawless with a matte finish as well as helping my skin to block the foundation from entering my pores. This primer is 100% recommended. The only thing that puts me off is the smell, which isn’t great but that’s definitely weighed away from the way that this primer helps your skin.

I've been trying this primer for a week now. it's a clear silicone primer and no matter how much I moisturise or what foundation I use, it always balls up and makes my foundation patchy. Almost immediately after applying foundation, it goes patchy and looks like it's rubbing off, especially around my nose and forehead. It's so frustrating! I don't know if I just don't get on with silicone primers or this particular one hates my high coverage foundations (Revolution Conceal and Define and Milani Conceal and Perfect), but I'm disappointed all the same. I'll give it another go with a less high coverage foundation to see if it makes a difference. Either way, I may avoid silicone primers from now on.

Love this primer, it makes my skin feel so soft and is great underneath my makeup. I have dry skin that struggled with foundations (even the Makeup revolution ones!) This sorts that right out. Love it so much.

I have never really enjoyed primer, never certain that it is actually needed in a beauty regime....until now! This is great, fills in my pores! I love the feel. It’s definitely lived up to its name, it lasts the entire night that I wear the makeup! I love the packaging and a little goes a long way! It’s also so affordable. I

This is a really nice primer for dry skin, i have some dry and some oily areas and on the oily areas of my face i really dont like it which is the reason i wont be buying it again but if you have dry skin this is amazing. This makes the skin look really nice and glowy but it will not look oily or greasy which is nice.This is a siliocne based primer that is quite thick, it fills the pores in really nicely making them much smaller and unoticable this also as it says hydrates the skin making it feel not dry and healthy.This doesnt feel heavy on the face and it doesnt feel slippery like oily of any sort.This is also slightly tacky but it doesnt make my foundation/base last longer. This is definetly not for oily skin since it just helps the foundation break and crack which really isnt the best. The bottle is quite small like all the other elf primers but this and the others do last a while since you only need a small amount of product to cover the whole face.The bottle has a matte finish and is a light blue colour.with black writing on the front and a nice pump to get the product out. Would recommend if you have dry skin.

I had wanted to try this primer for quite a while and it as never in any shop I went into. I managed to get this in an Elf Sale which was great! I found this product to be quite thick when it was applied, and I wasn’t keen on the initial scent but it didn’t last long. This applied so nicely, it made my skin feel so smooth afterwards and I couldn’t believe the difference in how my foundation applied afterwards, it was incredibly silky. Also my make up stayed on well throughout the day, this is a great product and well priced.

honestly i heard quite mixed views about this primer&i wasn’t exactly sure if i should get this but i am so glad i did! This smoothes over my face so easily w/my fingers or a sponge. It hydrates the dry skin around my nose and mouth which really helps towards a seamless foundation base. It really does make a difference as since i’ve stopped using it (due to busy mornings) my foundation has been much harder to blend and its v cakey. it clings to my dry patches quite a bit. but honestly the primer really works for my skin&for£7.50 it’s not a huge problem if it’s not exactly your no.1
